Introduction

Nothing beats a traditional New York style cheesecake. This cheesecake is just the right sweet-ness, creamy- ness, deliciousness. This is my one and only cheesecake recipe in my house, and once you make it it will be yours also. Make sure you serve this with the Homemade whipped cream recipe that is attached.

Traditional New York Cheesecake recipe with Homemade whipped cream.

Serve with canned cherries, or chopped fresh strawberries and of course homemade whipped cream.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs

6 Big chocolate chip cookies crushed

3 T unsalted butter melted

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese at room temperature.( No fat free cream cheese).

1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese at room temperature. (No fat free cream cheese).

2 T granulated sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

1 T all purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup sour cream

1 large egg.

7 inch Spring form pan

Homemade Whipped Cream Recipe.

1 pt heavy whipping cream.

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Directions for making the crust.

Making the crust.

1). Lightly grease the springform pan with butter. (Only use a springform pan)

2). Preheat oven to 350.

3). Stir together the gram cracker crumbs, Crushed chocolate chip cookies, 3 T butter melted, and 2 T of sugar. Once it is all mixed press the crumb mixture onto bottom and 1 inches up the sides of a lightly greased 7 inch spring foam pan.

4). Bake crust at 350 for approx 5 min until lightly browned. Transfer to cooling rack and let cool.

Making the cream cheese filling.

Traditional New York Style cheesecake:

1). Beat all cream cheese with a mixer at medium speed until smooth and creamy. Slowly add the remainder ½ cup sugar, flour, and vanilla. Beat well until further blended.

2). Next add the egg, and sour cream beating until well blended. Pour mixture into prepared crust, making sure you spoon all the filling into the prepared pan. Place the prepared cheesecake in the middle rack in the oven.

3). On the bottom rack of the oven place another baking or pie pan filled with water. This pan with water will create steam in the oven, and prevent your cheesecake from cracking. (This is very important).

4). Bake your cheesecake for approx 45 min or until center is almost set. (You can determine this by sticking a toothpick in the center). (If the toothpick comes out clean when you stick the cheesecake- than your cheesecake is done.)

5). When done remove your cheesecake from oven, cool on wire rack, and discard the pan with water. Cover and chill your cheesecake for approx 6 hours. Gently run a knife around edge of cheesecake to release sides of pan.

6). Serve your cheesecake with Homemade whipped cream, and canned cherries.

Homemade whipped cream recipe.

This is absolutely delicious. Once you make this- you will never buy whipped cream from a container.

Directions:

1). In a large bowl pour your heavy whipping cream in. Beat with a hand mixer until stiff peaks start to form (approx 5 minutes). Slowly add your sugar, and vanilla, and continue to beat with the mixer. The whipped cream will be ready when you remove the beaters and the cream stays still. (This is stiff peaks).

This is so delicious. Just make sure you don't eat all the whipped cream and have none for your cheesecake.

Oh, my, my, my. This recipe has history, step-by-step moves, a vid, yummy photographs and a whipped cream recipe! What more can this home baker ask for??? Well done! Will I break in my new oven with this? Of course! Looking forward to it. I can see myself eating this creation while watching "The Young and the Restless". What a pleasure! I may eat the whole thing if no one's watching or wanting to share. Sigh! Bookmarked and ready to roll.

Have my mouth watering. A good cheesecake is something I haven't yet found in France. I have tried many recipes (when I get a cheesecake craving) but I haven't been very successfull with it. I'll sure try this one!

Looks like a great recipe, but I found the `Homemade Whipped Cream' part intriguing. In New Zealand where I live, everyone I know wouldnt dream of using anything else, so it is not uncommon. Not the same out of a can & I guess you can buy it from a pkt but I have never seen it. Guess that is because I havent been looking for it. Also what are Graham Cracker crumbs. Are they plain or do they have a taste. Depending on what taste they are I will have to substitute them with something else
